Major Project #1 will no longer be accepted. If you are continuing MP #1 for your second project, the new score will replace the old one. If not, MP #1 and #2 will be averaged together.
Mid-quarter grades will be final on Tuesday evening! Any changes after that will not be reflected on the report you receive in the mail!
Monday, September 11

Due Today: Draft MP #2 Letter of Intent
Learning Target: L.9-12.6 Acquire and use accurately new academic and domain specific words and phrases. W.9-12.2.E Establish and maintain a formal style and objective tone while attending to the norms and conventions of the discipline in which they are writing.
Classwork
  1. Do Now: Copy the following Latin phrase: Transit umbra, lux permanet (literally, shadow passes, light remains). In the time provided, write what comes to mind. Remember: this is a warm-up activity. So, WRITE FOR THE ENTIRE TIME.
  2. After: Individual meetings to revise, print, and sign Letters of Intent
  3. Then: Turn-in signed letters
  4. Next: Let's see what you know about punctuation!

  4. Next: Initial assigning of roles for our class literary magazine

  1. Do Now: When you write, is punctuation intentional, or is just something you do without really thinking? Respond to the question in your journal. Remember: This is a warm-up activity. WRITE THE ENTIRE TIME.
  2. After: Finding inspiration when you've met writer's block...Read the article. Use the sticky notes to find something you: Agree with, can Act upon, Argue with, and something that Amuses you.
  3. Then: Conduct Four A's discussion protocol
